Maximum Impact in Your Workplace...Cuts Your Losses

Recent estimates of annual losses to Australian workplace productivity (eg The Age 9 July 2006  www.beyondblue.org.au), suggest that:

up to 2/3 of employees with significant depression symptoms do not seek treatment, but still
depression costs $3.3Bn annually - around $10,000 per untreated worker, but...
when employees have professional help, companies save on average $7,600 per worker
hang-overs from excessive drinking costs almost 2.5 million days and around $470m
sleep disorders costs $1.2Bn, and
with 1 in 7 people obese, depending on how it is calculated, obesity costs between $1 and 5Bn annually in health costs, which could translate into another $10,000 per employee in unnecessary workplace losses.

What will avoidable illness cost your workplace this year?

Who knows? Associated with depression, obesity and sleep disorders, we do know that 1 in 4 adult females report the debilitating effects of sexual abuse; around 1 in 10 adults suffer from diabetes; almost 50% of marriage relationships rupture beyond repair. The workplace productivity link back to emotional and relational issues, is no longer in question. The insurance industry suggests this adds 15-22% to workforce overheads.

MIP can save you...
WalkThru Mentors is being launched later this year to meet the increasingly sought need by industry leaders for the growing number of blue-collar manufacturing firms and organisations for which psychological and counseling services are not easily and traditionally available.

Hospitals, education, service organisations, the armed forces and sporting teams, have long known the immense benefit in having wisdom and understanding on hand for dealing with emotional and relational issues, in the face of individual and family trauma. Whilst the deep-seated issues will always filter through to clinical psychologists, much can be handled both informally and formally by trained WalkThru Mentors (like Chaplains) and Life Coaches.

Maximum Impact Workplace SEMINARS typically trigger:

employee thinking about smoking cessation, exercise and effective communication, and
dealing with relationship rupture, depression, anger, grief, blame, abuse, resentment etc.

Following one or more of these seminars, firms agree to a monthly retainer to discretely release staff for individual on-site, half-hour sessions, with a view to getting them into a regular after-work Growth Group, Hope group or Resilience Group.

Maximum Impact Workplace SEMINARS are also presented in clubs, schools and other settings where management knows the ongoing value of these topics being discussed.
